Mumbai Locals To Be Operational For General Public From Feb 1

Mumbai local train services will resume operations from February 1 for general public. There will be certain timings for general public to travel in local trains.
Timings for local trains to be operational for genral public; from 4.15 am to 7 am, 12 pm to 4 pm, and 9 pm to 1 am.
The Maharashtra government issued an statement on Friday and said from February 1, local train services will be resumed for general public.
Essential workers can travel between 7 am to 12 pm, and from 4 pm to 9 pm (when trains for genral public won’t be running).
Due to pandemic, all the passenger train services were closed. For the first time after lockdown imposed, train services resumed for essential service providers on June 15 last year. And working women permitted to travel in local trains in certain hours, by the end of October.
Local train services were about to resume from January this year, but due to fear of UK Covid-19 variant, it defers the plan. Now, state government going to reopen secondary schools, so the state government was under pressure to resume local train services.
