From A Small Town to The Top In The Civil Service Examination: Mayank Mittal

Mayank Mittal is a well known name among UPSC Aspirants and many engineering students also see him as an inspiration. He was born in Bilaspur Uttar Pradesh which is tehsil under Rampur district of Uttar Pradesh . He has completed his schooling till 10th from Bilaspur and later moved to Rampur to complete his (10+2) education from Dayawati Modi Academy Rampur.

Mayank did his Btech from MNIT Allahabad in Electronics and Communication. He was the Institute topper from MNIT Allahabad and was placed in Qualcomm where he worked as an associate Engineer in Bangalore. During his final year he gave Gate Exam and was selected in ONGC where he worked for two years.
Mayank secured All India Rank 1 in IES exams.

During the Conversation he told while he was working in ONGC he started preparation for All India Engineering Services. In 2017 he gave his first attempt of Engineering Services Exam he scored All India Rank 1 and joined Indian Railway Service of Signal Engineering.

During the show he told after getting job in Indian Railways he started preparing for Civil Services Exam which is the dream job of almost every student in India. He started preparing in 2017 and cleared the exam in first attempt with AIR 105 but as he thought he will not get IAS Post so he started preparation for next attempt just after the results.

In the second attempt of civil services exam he cleared the exam with All India Rank 29 through which he got Indian Administrative Service .
Presently serving in Telgana cadre.
While talking about his college life he said, he enjoyed a lot with his friends during the college. He always made a balance between enjoyment and studies as he was also preparing for GATE Exam. He shared his strategy that he broke big task into small task by which he achieved his goal. He said his parents played a very key role in his preparation and always motivated him to take all the decisions while they were quite risky.

At last Mayank said students should be continuously motivated as this exam requires a lot of patience and should study only those things which are required for the exam. He told that consistency is the biggest reason to qualify exams like UPSC and should be away from negative things as the burden of civil services exam is very high as compared to other exams.
